Reporting to Division Merger & Acquisitions (“M&A”) Manager, the candidate’s key responsibilities are to provide market research, analysis, pipeline maintenance, target profiling, financial modeling, report drafting and initial contacting of potential merger and acquisition targets Workload is derived from two categories; transaction work, market research.

Core Responsibilities

Transactional Work

Transaction work involves working closely with Division M&A Manager to complete the following key tasks:

  • Conduct market research in cooperation with Region GM and VP’s
  • Understanding the strategic rationale of the company’s acquisition needs and to identify potential M&A targets
  • Assist to produce “short profile” of M&A targets
  • Assisting to prepare acquisition business plans (including Financial Modeling)
  • Assist in project management of transaction to completion, including conducting due diligence and liaison with tax, legal and accounting advisor
  • Assist in negotiation and transaction structuring
  • Prepare stakeholder presentations

Market Research

  • Conduct regular market research to identify industry trends and potential opportunities
  • Maintain acquisition pipeline
  • Complete specific research to support Origination objectives
  • Ad hoc requests on an “as needs” basis

 

Competency Requirements

Essential

  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a strategy / advisory firm, Investment Bank or in-house corporate strategy / M&A team.
  • Undergraduate degree preferably in a finance related discipline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (Both English and Chinese),
  • High numerate competency

Desired

  • Outstanding academics and commercial acumen

  • Presence and communications skills to interface and transact at senior levels
  • Client relationship and management skills
  • High levels of enthusiasm and energy
