SG CIB is the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Société Générale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia.SG CIB provides corporate, financial institutions, investors and public sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions.

Part of the Client & Credit Solutions (C&CS) team, the client onboarding trainee must be an effective communicator, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and escalate issues as required. The position involves close interaction with global and regional management, key clients, sales and various internal departments.

C&CS Asiapac will support Asiapac management and sales force in managing clients and will liaise with the Global Head of Commodities (CTY) C&CS to ensure that Asian processes are aligned with global ones and that global CTY senior management priorities are followed.

Tasks include but are not limited to reviewing, initiating the onboarding of, and acting as an
escalation point for CTY Asiapac clients and issues related to them within C&CS mandate.



  • Directly support the Global CTY TRM team and CTY Asiapac management and sales force in managing workflow to
- Implement CTY management priorities in respect of client management. Assist and advise CTY Asiapac management and sales force regarding existing Asiapac clients and prospects covered by Asian-based sales or in some cases covered by Asian based PCRU
- Monitor client life cycle events, e.g. Onboarding and Account Termination
- Evaluate onboarding prospects in order to optimize scarce Support and Control Resources
- Provide PCRU / Support and Control / Regional functions relevant information about CTY prospects and clients, especially in support of credit approvals and renewals
- Assist in coordinating priority onboardings that require escalation
  • Make recommendations to the CTY TRM global head and Asiapac CTY management based on detailed analyses, including but not limited to:
- Profitability analysis and commercial justification
- Quality of services provided to clients
- RISQ, regulatory and legal issues that impact clients
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with PCRUs, CCG, RISQ, KYC, Legal,Compliance.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements and efficiencies
  • Attend meetings, track deliverables and monitor progress on initiatives and projects
  • Develop presentations and dashboards with key performance metrics for meetings as required
  • Be a model SG citizen and comply with applicable SG mandates and procedures

  • Maximum 1 year of working experience in Banking & Finance
  • Basic knowledge in Global Markets; ideally so in the Commodities space
  • Basic experience in handling Corporate clients
  • Good communication & articulation skills especially this role requires one to front internal teams i.e. KYC / Compliance / CCG / Risq / PCRU & local RMs and at the same time speak to Sales Traders
  • Fluent English and Mandarin required
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision
  • Keen interest to learn about the business with an inquisitive mind with a go-getter attitude
  • Confident and outgoing personality
  • Strong MS skills especially Excel, Word & Powerpoint
