Our client is a leading global banking institution operating across global markets, asset management, Investment, corporate and private banking. They are present in over 100 countries and employ many thousands of people across the world. Singapore is seen a large strategic hub location and the head quarters to the region. Due to a number of large programs they are looking to appoint an APAC Head of Infrastructure Operations.

They are present in over 100 countries and employ many thousands of people across the world. Singapore is seen a large strategic hub location and the head quarters to the region. Due to a number of large programs they are looking to appoint an APAC Head of Infrastructure Operations.

Infrastructure Operations includes managing the infrastructure of the bank which includes servers, storage, database, data centres, platforms, compute services and networks. This group is also responsible for infrastructure transformation programs.

Key Accountabilities;

  • Responsible for the delivery of services for the Bank's IT operations, ensuring services are delivered effectively and operational platforms are maintained to the highest standard, with minimal risk to the Bank's business operations.
  • Develops short, medium and long term plans for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of service operations that will generate a significant, positive impact on the business unit's profitability/cost containment objectives and strategic direction, through improved stability, capacity management, quality and cost effectiveness
  • Responsible for driving the transformation of global service delivery platforms, including development of new solutions, policies, processes, and organisational models and structures ensuring stability of existing operations.
  • Develops and fosters strong, productive working relationships with clients at a senior level. Builds and maintains a robust understanding of the client's business strategy, key drivers and current issues to inform the development of product/ service implementation strategies that will meet client needs and which reflect external market trends, competition considerations, macro economic factors and the Banks strategic direction
  • Develops and fosters strong, productive working relationships with local /global vendors and strategic partners at a senior level. Builds and maintain an understanding of the vendor's business strategy, key drivers and current issues to support close collaboration on product and service implementation strategies that will meet the need of clients, and which reflect market trends, competition considerations, macro economic factors and Bank's strategic direction.
  • Manages key interactions with strategic partners and local vendors to resolve major operational issues that have widespread/global impact.

The Successful Candidate

  • Educated to degree level
  • Significant and demonstrable experience in a leadership role and in managing senior vendor/partner relationships.
  • Significant experience in one or more Infrastructure technical area.
  • Vast experience managing complex transformations and programs.
  • Significant experience of Service Management
  • A strong understanding of Application Integration and Support
  • Have exposure transitioning from a traditional infrastructure set up to a platform as a service model
  • Must have strong experience in Infrastrcuture as a service (IAAS)
  • Good understanding of latest technologies, including cloud
  • Strong team leader, able to work in virtual, global teams in a matrix organisation, transfer knowledge and develop capability of team members.
  • Outstanding relationship management skills, problem solving, analytical, financial management, , communication, strategic agility, influencing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (written and verbal) and local languages if necessary
  • Strong business planning skills
  • Knowledge of the Financial Services industry
