The Sr. Analyst - Marketing Analytics provides actionable insights to guide and inform Marketing and Sales strategies and provide Franklin Templeton Investments (FTI) with a competitive advantage in how it connects and engages with financial advisors.  The Sr. Analyst will implement thought leadership and industry best practices to build trust and credibility with senior stakeholders and build new Marketing Analytics capabilities for FTI.


The Sr. Analyst will work closely and collaborate with multiple stakeholders from Sales, Marketing and Technology teams to support reporting, analysis and connect actionable insights to business strategy.  The Sr. Analyst will build a ‘Trusted Adviser’ role with deep subject matter expertise in Marketing Analytics and a consultative approach.


Responsibilities include:


Deliver data-driven, actionable insights:


  • Support, inform and guide Marketing and Sales strategies for retail and institutional businesses with ad-hoc reporting and analysis, customer insights and identifying key metrics

  • Help drive customer strategy for the Marketing and Sales teams with innovative approaches to predictive modeling and multivariate testing.  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape contact strategies based on data-driven insights and segmentation models

Support team and build capabilities:


  • Partner with a team of analysts to develop a deep understanding of our customers, market trends, investor behavior, competitors, and local dynamics to inform and guide Marketing and Sales tactics.

  • Build and augment analytical capabilities in: advertising/brand, contact strategies, segmentation, lifetime value, attrition, and lead generation leveraging lessons learned and best practices from other industries

  • Implement innovative initiatives that help build new marketing capabilities and ‘operationalize’ analytics.  This would include working hands-on with cross-functional teams and vendors to shape the project deliverables that can be easily consumed and used by the business.

Open collaboration and lead change:


  • Evangelize data-driven decision making within the Marketing and Sales teams.  Including: increase awareness of Marketing Analytics and its value via lunch & learn presentations and participation in analytics related communities.

  • Influence stakeholders to incorporate data - driven insights into their decision making process by: building relationships, managing change and delivering measurable results.  Success will be a function of how the Sr Analyst has informed and influenced partner decisions, and actions taken, based on the insights delivered.

  • Develop an open and collaborative approach to working with other analysts within the Client Insights team across several countries including India, UK and US.  With particular emphasis on collaborating with, and supporting teams outside of Client Insights, including: Marketing, Advertising, Sales, Product and Technology across the globe.


Ideal candidates will have:
  • 5-7 years of experience in Marketing Analytics, Digital Marketing, or Marketing in a business related field 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred

  • Financial Services experience required; experience in investment management and other industries (e.g. Retail, CPG, e-Commerce) is preferred

  • Expert level proficiency in Excel (Macros, statistical formulas, etc)

  • Proficiency in data-discovery tools, including SAS, SPSS, Google Analytics, Radian6, Tableau, Business Objects, and Unica Campaign

  • Good understanding of advanced statistical techniques, including uplift modeling, logistic regression and cluster analysis

  • Confident and proven ability to influence stakeholder and senior leaders

  • Experience in change management, organizational behavior and consulting

  • Experience in working in open collaboration with global teams preferred

  • Passionate communicator, able to clearly articulate a vision, and inspire and empower a team

  • Strong delegation and prioritization skills
