Business Development - Private Equity(Moody's Analytics Knowledge Services)

Moody's Analytics Knowledge Services is looking for experienced and senior candidates who have successfully sold research and consulting services and solutions to private equity funds or have worked with private equity funds throughout North America and preferably those who have an established network within the North American PE landscape. The ideal candidate must possess a strong sales process background with a good track record of closing complex deals. A prior background in selling knowledge based outsourcing services or high value consulting services to private equity funds is a plus.

Responsibilities

Run high quality enterprise sales cycles which includes:-

o Identifying and initiating new sales opportunities by prospecting new clients

o Leveraging existing client relationships and networks to generate commercial interest

o Qualifying and generating demand at clients and prospects

o Creating compelling value propositions mapped to client business needs

o Negotiating and closing complex agreements.

Own a revenue quota to be attained by selling to new client accounts and by leveraging prior relationships for high value added services to Private Equity funds including:

o Deal sourcing

o Target evaluation

o Investment review

o Value enhancement for portfolio companies

Pitch at the MD/partner/senior decision maker level to build a broad vision of outsourcing and associated benefits

Ensure complete client coverage by calling upon the support of subject matter specialists across MAKS

Provide accurate forecasts and pipeline information to management by way of Salesforce.com

Meet established revenue targets, while creating new and enhanced customer relationships and ensuring client satisfaction

Position requires travel

  • Bachelors' degree in Finance, Economics or related area required; MBA highly preferred
  • 5 to 10 years' experience either selling research, advisory and consulting to Private Equity clients, or working with Private Equity funds throughout USA and Canada
  • Ability to independently hunt, identify and develop new business opportunities is key
  • Ability to sell on a needs/solutions approach and ability to engage with senior business users, MDs, Partners, Fund Managers and Procurement Managers is a must
  • Ability to influence key decision makers during the full life cycle of the sales process
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills as well as outstanding client relationship management experience
  • Experience in leading sales efforts, proposal development and closing deals
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose issues and develop solution
  • Ability to multi task and meet short deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, with focus and high attention to detail
