Sydney CBD | $450 per day +super | Part-time role | 8 Month contract opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Data, Analytics & Insights SME to join and established NSW Government organisation. This role will support the delivery of a strategic transformation of enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities by designing and implementing a Unified Reporting Suite for executive and business reporting.

Working within the Insights team, you will develop scalable reporting solutions that combine data, automated insights and AI-driven commentary to support informed decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop a Unified Reporting Suite providing a consolidated view of organisational and marketing performance.
• Build executive-level reporting solutions using Power BI, integrating multiple data sources into a single reporting framework.
• Develop proof of concepts and scalable reporting products that evolve with business requirements.
• Implement AI-generated or automated reporting commentary to deliver meaningful business insights.
• Conduct ad hoc analysis and provide recommendations in response to stakeholder requests.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into reporting and analytical solutions.
• Source, validate and integrate datasets while ensuring data quality and governance standards are maintained.
• Collaborate with the wider Insights team to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
• Advanced SQL skills, including scripting, stored procedures and relational database design.
• Strong Power BI development experience, including dashboards, semantic models, data modelling and data pipelines.
• Experience with ETL processes and data integration using technologies such as SSIS, Python and SFTP.
• Experience applying AI to reporting, automated commentary or insight generation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with evolving business requirements.
• Experience delivering reporting solutions within large, complex organisations (desirable)
• Previous NSW Government or public sector experience. (desirable)
• Experience developing executive-level reporting and data storytelling solutions. (desirable)
