It's a good time to see what more you can find at NAB as an Associate Director within our Group Tax team.
Support NAB's performance units through the provision of strategic tax advice and be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of tax services to NAB's business units and for developing frameworks to facilitate tax risk management. You will approve tax risks for new business initiatives / transactions as delegated by the CTO (Chief Tax Officer).
Key responsibilities will include: - Preparation of advice to Australian business units.
- Keep abreast of Australian and global tax developments and their impacts on NAB.
- Preparation of responses to tax audits queries and information requests from revenue authorities.
- Review of tax accounting entries and reconciliation of tax accounts.
- Documentation of tax compliance obligations, end-to-end processes and controls; implementation of tax policy procedures.
- Ensure tax controls framework is designed and operating effectively.
- Establish and foster strong relationships with the Finance and business unit community as well as Group Tax, providing highly focused tax advice in relation to tax compliance and reporting matters.
- Share best digitization practices across Group Tax and make value contributions to global tax transformation.
- Embrace NAB's productivity and simplification agenda and proactively seek out opportunities for reduction in complexity and cost.
What you will bring: - Experience in the provision of tax advice for complex financial arrangements and business acquisitions.
- Strong tax technical skills with specialist tax experience working in a chartered accounting firm or corporate role with a financial service and/or international tax law background.
- Experience with engaging industry bodies around tax reform and industry tax issues.
- Financial Services industry experience, Undergraduate qualification (Law, Financial or Commercial) preferred but not essential.
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential materials.
- Work supportively and flexibly with colleagues to ensure deliverables achieved in timely manner.
- Actively building relationships within and across business streams, functional areas, and regions.
