APRA is seeking an experienced leader to head up its Governance, Culture and Remuneration risk team. This team provides expert advice on the interrelated topics of governance, culture and remuneration in relation to APRA-regulated institutions.

• Lead a team responsible for providing expert advice in the areas of governance, culture and remuneration
• Play a key role in contributing to APRA’s development of relevant prudential standards
• Opportunity for flexible working arrangements in a workplace that values diversity, inclusion and work/life balance

You will play a key role in contributing to APRA’s development of relevant prudential standards, guidelines and methodology to assess and influence the governance, culture and remuneration policies and practices of APRA-regulated institutions. This will be a key focus for APRA and the entities we regulate in seeking to drive good cultural outcomes.

You will lead a team of risk specialists to deliver on APRA’s strategy and promote best practice in industries that are vital to the Australian community. Key to this role will be the ability to take a broad view on current and emerging practices globally and domestically. You will establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally as you develop and deliver APRA’s approach.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in one of the areas of governance, culture or remuneration (with a demonstrable interest in the remaining areas of focus), along with a sound understanding of how financial institutions operate and the key risks they face.

You will have highly developed leadership, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and be able to demonstrate strong organisational and planning skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment, coupled with creative problem solving skills are key, along with excellent communication skills. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is required.
