APRA is seeking a Manager to lead a team of supervisors focused on the Insurance industry within the Specialised Institutions Division (SID).

• Contribute to APRA’s role as prudential regulator of financial institutions
• Lead a team of professionals responsible for the supervision of APRA regulated insurance entities

The team supports APRA’s core function by undertaking prudential supervision and risk assessment activities in order to achieve the government and APRA’s objective of providing a prudentially sound financial system.

The Manager role involves leading a high-performing team, ensuring the team meets its strategic objectives, developing and coaching staff, leading supervision activities, maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and making decisions relating to the strategic direction of the team’s supervision activities.

APRA’s leaders play an integral role in shaping our culture, supporting our people and preparing APRA for the future. The successful candidate will therefore have demonstrated experience leading teams, in addition to a proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders both internally and externally to discuss industry and regulatory issues. The successful candidate will have a positive mindset and an energetic approach to problem solving, with a willingness to offer new ideas and a fresh perspective. Knowledge of the general insurance and/or private health insurance industries would be advantageous but not essential.
