Principal Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables of Role:
BCM Strategy: assist with the definition and recommendation of the BCM Framework for all Units / Departments across Bank ABC Group
Implementation of BCM Framework and Annual Activities Plan: assist wit the implementation and management of the BCM Framework as planned by the Group BCM Manager; assist in the efforts to identify actual and potential threats to the continuity of operations and recommend actions for control, mitigation or transfer of these risks; coordinate closely with the Units BCM Managers and Head Office Recovery Team Leaders / Deputies to ensure the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP) are up-to-date and consistent with the requirements of the Group BCM Policy
Testing: Assist and coordinate the Group’s Annual Business Continuity Testing Plan
Crisis Management: Provide support to the Group Crisis Management Team as directed and support Unit’s BCM Managers to ensure effectiveness of the Group Crisis Management Framework
Group BCM Awareness: Provide training, advice and guidance as necessary to help raise Business Continuity awareness across Bank ABC Group
Other: active participation in ‘change projects’ when relevant; carry out adhoc requests at the direction of the Group BCM Manager

Business Continuity Management (BCM) has and continues to rapidly gain significant importance in the financial industry. There is a growing concern of not only regulators, governments but also of the public that Banks should improve their ability to deal with crises and minimse the impact on the financial system (Systemic risk) and on their clients. Against this bacdrop, Bank ABC has strengthened its governance on BCM and Disaster Recovery (DR) across the Group. Important elements hereby are the more formal implementation of the 3 Lines of Defense model with global oversight on BCM and DR across Bank ABC Group.
The jobholder must keep up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements, changes in technology and the latest threats and vulnerabilities faced by Bank ABC Group. The jobholder must contribute to ensuring that the BCM Framework for the management of BCM across Bank ABC Group is maintained.

This role will not report to any Committee in the Bank. However, the jobholder may occasionally be invited to attend function-related Committees e.g., Group Operational Resilience Committee (GORC) and Group Crisis Management Team Committee (Group CMT)
