Goldman Sachs is making a long-term commitment in China, with the incorporation of a majority-owned subsidiary. Over the next few years, we expect that our firm will become a major player in the local financial market, and we will deploy our institutional and consumer products. We are looking for talented and enthusiastic engineers to join us on this journey, and help build out a broad set of controls for our businesses in China and professionals to join our engineering team and help build out a broad set of controls for our China's business. OUR IMPACT
Our team of engineers are developing cutting-edge systems for some of the industry's most complex problems. We enable Goldman Sachs' research analysts to model investment ideas efficiently and accurately, whilst ensuring that clients can access these ideas when, where and how they choose. GIR Engineers leverage the latest in cloud, mobile and big data technologies to help define and deliver our digital investment research strategy. GIR Engineers are critical to our business.
As an Engineer, you will be responsible for our Research Distribution Platform in China and will oversee security, availability, performance, software engineering, change and incident management. In this role, you will work closely with the local business and engineering and be an integral part of our Global GIR Engineering team. In this role, you will need to understand the local and global regulatory environment and be able to describe and explain our technology solutions to control functions like compliance and legal, as well as external regulators and auditors. - You will work on a diverse set of technologies
- You will work alongside our business counterparts and are exposed, daily, to their thought processes, allowing us to apply relevant technology solutions to the problems they face.
- You will work with engineers from across the globe, in particular in New York, London, Singapore, and India
ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
- 3-5 years relevant commercial experience
- A strong analytical, communications, client-facing skills and problem solving mind-set
- Willingness to collaborate with our business partners to understand and implement their requirements
- Experience in a programming language (e.g. Java, Python)
- Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines)
- Experience in network, service and application monitoring
