Working as part of the Coal & Iron Ore trading team to developing Chinese markets for imported coking coal and coke.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- >5 years of experience in coal market in purchase, sales, marketing or trading of coke and coking coal to steel mills and coke producers.
- Coke and coking coal supply and demand
- Relationship with Chinese coke producers
- Relationship with Chinese steel mills.
- Knowledge of buyers in destination markets
- Logistic for exports and capability to put FOB competitive coke parcels.
- English and Local language excellent both in oral and written
- Outgoing, drive, committed
Key Responsibilities
- Working within the international coking and coke team to develop and execute trading strategies
- Initiating weekly physical market report to provide market update and spot trading opportunities.
- Developing new customers/sources to expand acknowledgement of Trafigura in the market, providing the company with efficient, competitive pricing and reliable quality materials.
- Maintaining existing suppliers as well as increasing our participation in the market by diversifying.
- Attending conference, seminar and other marketing activities to promote Trafigura.
- Understanding and analysis of the steel complex in China and seaborne market.
- Pursuing market opportunities for both purchase and sale and expand biz in China.
- Assisting traders to maintain close relationship with customers.
- Assisting operations / Shipping / Logistics as required
- Sharing information with IO and coking coal teams
