About our client

Our client is an independent early-stage venture capital fund backed with a long-term commitment by one of the most renowned family businesses in Germany. Their investments are focused on the nutrition, lifestyle and health-tech-sector, with the aim to drive the world towards higher sustainability by leveraging digital technologies to provide access to products and services in a more efficient, convenient, and democratised way.

The team of highly motivated business experts is now looking for a Head of Finance and Operations to take full ownership of the operations and support their ambitious growth plans. The position is located in Duesseldorf with home-office options.
What the job involves

• Leading the finance function including accounting, reporting and compliance
• Overseeing preparation of investor reporting and financial statements
• Driving fund operations including payments and deal execution
• Coordinating service providers such as auditors, tax consultants, and banks
• Developing and implementing management information and back-office record-keeping systems to support controlling/reporting, investment, fundraising, investor relations and general administration activities
• Managing fund performance and deployment models
• Supporting fundraising through modelling and investment decks
• Assisting with investment sourcing, screening, and market analysis

Who we are looking for

• University degree in business administration, finance, or related disciplines with a focus on accounting, audit or controlling
• Relevant work experience in investment banking, VC/PE Funds, or the Big4 in accounting/audit or transaction services
• Knowledge in legal, finance, accounting, financial modelling, and compliance
• Self-motivated and comfortable with independent problem-solving
• Organised with great attention to detail
• Hands-on mentality and can-do attitude, with the ability and desire to learn
