Digital Energy Trading can't wait any longer, hence handle the Energy trading activities of the Group and act as the Group´s interface to the wholesale markets for Energy, Natural Gas and Emissions rights (EUA and CER).
Current-Team set up: 2 Originators, 1 Flow Trader, 3 Sales Traders, 3 Portfolio Managers (PMs), 1 Structured Trader, Swing Trader and the Head of the team (a good team, who like each other with a good spirit and very good collaboration).
You will report to the Head of Gas Portfolio Management & Trading.
Reason for Vacancy:
The necessity to improve on Portfolio Management and to be more precise, they need to hire an extra person. Two years ago, they were able to do it “quick and dirty”, but now a proper environment is needed. Someone who can look at the analysis, improving on the infrastructure/environment on the Portfolio Management.
Currently trading directional L/S products, but growing more into options, options strategy analytics, weather derivatives to hedge weather dependencies. It is not only the hedging on the existing portfolio, since the products are more diversified.
Weather dependent flexibility products that they are hedging with options approaches, but they are also implementing options, this will be set up for option hedging in the very near future.
The products spectrum is enormous; weather derivatives, options, (Gas) storages, long term contract with flexibility (like swing contracts), forwards and futures.
Next careers steps:
After this role you can become a Portfolio Manager, Option Trader or a Structured Vol. Options Trader (if you become good with volatility structured strategies, sensitivities and structures) or go to an even bigger shop.
*Junior level is possible, if your coding & mindset are at the right level. But they prefer a bit of experience, unless you are very enthusiastic and hungry to learn

1st Interview is with the Head of Gas PM & Trading; introduction, go through your CV, the vacancy itself and the firm. Maybe a PM will join… but it will be more of a dialogue…
2nd Interview will be with the PM Desk. Depending on your IT knowledge, one from the IT team will join to go more into the Technical side and knowledge of analytics and IT. Then the MD will join for 15 min. to get a feeling for the fit and the person, not technical.
3rd Interview: a formality call with HR to explain the compensation and benefits.
