Senior Associate, Economic Advisory
We are looking for a Senior Associate to join Kroll's Economic Advisory practice in Germany. In this role, you will help clients navigate complex competition, regulatory and commercial disputes by applying rigorous economic and econometric analysis to real-world business challenges.
Our Economic Advisory team advises leading corporations, law firms, financial institutions and government bodies on high-profile domestic and international matters, including antitrust investigations, merger reviews, damages quantification, commercial litigation, regulatory proceedings and international arbitration. As part of a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment, you will work alongside experienced economists and industry experts on some of the most complex and impactful cases in the market.

Senior Associate, Economic Advisory
We are looking for a Senior Associate to join Kroll's Economic Advisory practice in Germany. In this role, you will help clients navigate complex competition, regulatory and commercial disputes by applying rigorous economic and econometric analysis to real-world business challenges.
Our Economic Advisory team advises leading corporations, law firms, financial institutions and government bodies on high-profile domestic and international matters, including antitrust investigations, merger reviews, damages quantification, commercial litigation, regulatory proceedings and international arbitration. As part of a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment, you will work alongside experienced economists and industry experts on some of the most complex and impactful cases in the market.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Lead workstreams and make significant contributions to the delivery of competition, regulatory and dispute-related projects.
- Conduct and oversee qualitative, quantitative, statistical and econometric analyses using advanced analytical tools and software.
- Develop robust empirical and theoretical approaches to address complex economic questions.
- Review economic literature, regulatory frameworks, case law and market evidence to support client engagements.
- Draft and review presentations, reports, expert submissions and other client deliverables.
- Contribute to case strategy development and the formulation of economic arguments.
- Participate in client meetings, conference calls and discussions with competition authorities, regulators and legal advisers.
- Support project planning, coordination and execution across multiple engagements.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, supporting their professional development.
- Ensure the accuracy, quality and consistency of analytical work and project deliverables.
Essential traits:
- Master's degree or PhD in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline.
- Typically 3-6 years of experience in economic consulting, competition economics, regulatory economics or a related analytical field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply economic theory to complex real-world situations.
- Proven experience using statistical and econometric software such as Stata, R, Python or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of competition, regulatory or litigation-related economic issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within project teams.
- Experience supporting and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Professional proficiency in English and German.
- Experience in energy economics, French language skills, or knowledge of Mathematica and other advanced analytical software packages would be advantageous.
