Senior Vice President, Global Digital Segment Team Head, Citi Commercial Bank - Hybrid
Overall Role Description
Given its strategic geographical location, well-developed infrastructure and international communication network, Hong Kong plays a critical role as regional treasury hub with global impact and it is one of the important market for global digital segment.
GDS Team Head is responsible for CCB's growth strategy in the digital segment with a focus on growing existing client portfolio, acquiring new clients, empowering bankers in the team with both banking and industry knowledge. The Team Head will also be responsible for the overall financials and management of our risk appetite and controls inherent in the portfolio and to ensure a strong returns discipline.
The Team Head will therefore need to demonstrate an exceptional ability to identify and capture business opportunities, secure business partnerships both within and outside of Citi, and perfect interpersonal skills to achieve stretch target. The role requires relationship building expertise and an ability to articulate, bring alignment, communicate and execute on a clear industry strategy and plan for market leadership and growth. It requires collaboration and close partnership with senior leadership within CCB as well as key partners in BCMA, Products and other Citi businesses. The Team Head should be acknowledged by the market, clients and within Citi as the expert on the industry and seen to be making high impact positive changes in our value proposition and market positioning.
This role provides an opportunity for a high potential and high performing candidate to develop and implement all aspects of strategy and customer delivery within the respective business. The role will directly report to Hong Kong GDS Head.
Responsibilities:
1)Strategy: -Identify business opportunity, drive client portfolio expansion, develop and execute strategy for the team -Identify emerging trends including disruptors/ new sub-segments -Optimize resource allocation aligned with global and regional priorities
2)Business Development & Sales Management: -Establish and lead robust sales management processes for pipeline management, new client acquisition, industry and client share of wallet penetration. -Strategic focus on significant digital names and build up though partner relationship with Clients' C levels -Act as a knowledge expert and maintain appropriate connectivity internally and externally to stay abreast of industry developments and trends, emerging clients etc. to expand target market opportunities and provide feedback for product development -Drive innovation including development and commercialization of industry specific solutions in partnership with products specialists and subject matter experts. -Execution of strategic initiatives launched centrally at all levels (Group, Bank, commercial market and EIB).
3)Risk Management: -Oversee the credit relationship of the client, coordinating and supervising the entire process, ensuring the proper application of policies and institutional processes. - Lead Industry portfolio reviews, understand emerging industry trends and impact to portfolio, work with CLM and Risk to develop risk mitigation strategies. - Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all times.
4)Talent: -This people leadership role is responsible for leading a team of Industry Bankers/Relationship Managers (RMs). -These RMs are responsible for actively calling on clients to deepen relationships and proactively owning, responding to and anticipating future needs, challenges or risks, in addition to identifying and pursuing new clients aligned with our value proposition. -Attracting, retaining and motivating a team, along with responsibility for managing a budget and meeting team sales goals. -Build industry expertise and skills within the team and ensure deep understanding of relevant products and solutions.
Qualifications : -10+ years of commercial/corporate banking experience. Working industry knowledge and experience in TMT and/or digital natives preferred. -In-depth knowledge of all aspects of commercial banking including strong commercial credit knowledge and an ability to quickly learn new products and services -Possesses sound judgment and is creative in providing credit/deposit solutions to bank clients -Significant experience with commercial credit decision making authority, with experience in complex capital structures and cross border transactions -Minimum intermediate level credit skills with the capability to demonstrate advanced level credit skills to be appointed a senior credit officer -Ability to work effectively in team setting and demonstrate role model characteristics to the team -Exemplary leadership skills to engage diverse teams to partner and work together -Proven track record of successfully managing and leading teams through complex change; a reputation for retaining, attracting and developing talent -Proven leadership ability with excellent interpersonal communication skills -Must have a sharp business development focus and demonstrate innovative approaches -Able to quickly adapt priorities based on the latest data insights
