Director, Market and Liquidity Risk

Role Overview:
The Director of Market and Liquidity Risk is responsible for overseeing and refining the bank’s policies and procedures related to market, liquidity, and interest rate risks. The role involves collaborating with key departments to measure, monitor, and manage these risks effectively, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Key Skills & Experience:
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in the banking industry, with a focus on market risk and liquidity risk management from banks in Hong Kong
• Familiarity with HKMA regulations and requirements related to market and liquidity risk
• Experience with Treasury Management systems such as TOMS, Summit, MUREX, or Bloomberg MARS
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or related disciplines
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, FRM, or equivalent is advantageous
• Knowledge of security business is a plus
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure
• Strong command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and review existing policies and procedures for market risk, liquidity risk, and interest rate risk, and create new policies as needed
• Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, and Business units to measure, monitor, and manage risks within the bank
• Monitor the bank’s risk levels to ensure compliance with internal and external policies and limits
• Implement and regularly review stress test programmes for market and liquidity risks, assessing methodologies, parameters, and scenarios
• Prepare reports on market risk, liquidity risk, interest rate risk, and counterparty credit risk for regulators, ALCO, and senior management
• Participate in new product and business initiatives related to market and liquidity risk

Requirements:
• At least 8 years of relevant banking experience in Hong Kong, particularly in risk management
• In-depth understanding of HKMA’s regulations regarding market and liquidity risk
• Familiarity with Treasury Management systems (TOMS, Summit, MUREX, Bloomberg MARS)
• Degree in a relevant discipline, with professional qualifications being an advantage
• Ability to work independently and under pressure, with excellent communication skills in English and Chinese
