Provide advices on accounting standards and other rules/regulations which have impact on financial reporting/disclosure
Support on annual and interim statutory reporting
Deal with internal and external auditors in respect of system audit and statutory audit
Resolve accounting issues with internal departments / group entities
Devise accounting treatment for new products of the Bank
Conduct post-launch review of accounting entries for new products of the Bank
Keep update of the accounting policies and guidelines
Review hedge accounting documentation and accounting treatment
Review lease calculation and accounting treatment under HKFRS 16
Review the application for use of fair value option and FVOCI election under HKFRS 9
Review the evaluation for sale of financial assets within Held to Collect business model and the assessment of SPPI Test under HKFRS 9
Keep update of the guideline on valuation of financial instruments and conduct credit valuation adjustment assessment
Provide an update on FRS and Disclosures and review Practice Note issued by HKICPA in relation to the auditors’ reporting responsibilities under Banking Ordinance on bi-monthly basis
Participate / coordinate accounting related projects
Balance strengthening of the necessary controls and streamlining of operation procedures
Requirements:
Preferably university graduate in Accounting or Finance
Qualified accountant / HKICPA or equivalent preferred
Over 3 years’ experience in banking / accounting / auditing
Good experience in devising accounting treatment and resolving accounting issues;
Sound knowledge in banking operations and accounting standards;
Good understanding of relevant Group policies, procedures, practices and rules;
A team player with good communication skills and risk awareness
Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, fluency in Mandarin is preferable.
