Managing Director, Global Corporates Coverage

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly connected banking professional to lead our Large Corporate Banking franchise covering Hong Kong local conglomerates and China-based corporates. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving client acquisition, portfolio growth, revenue generation, and strategic relationship management across key corporate groups, with a particular focus on conglomerates, transportation, logistics, supply chain, infrastructure, and related sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Bank's Large Corporate Banking strategy for Hong Kong local corporates and China corporates.
• Originate and manage relationships with major corporate groups, listed companies, conglomerates, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and privately owned enterprises (POEs).
• Drive focused coverage of Hong Kong conglomerates / Logistics and transportation companies / Ports and shipping operators
• Identify opportunities to grow lending, trade finance, treasury, cash management, syndicated loans, project finance, and cross-border banking business.
• Build and maintain C-suite level relationships with key decision makers including Chairpersons, CEOs, CFOs, and Treasurers.
• Lead client engagement initiatives and represent the Bank at industry forums, corporate events, and strategic meetings.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Relationship Managers and corporate banking professionals.

Requirements

• Minimum 20 years of Corporate Banking experience, with substantial experience covering large corporates and conglomerate groups.
• Proven track record in relationship management, business origination, and portfolio growth within the Hong Kong and Greater China markets.
• Strong experience in handling complex credit facilities, syndicated lending, structured financing, and cross-border transactions.
• Prior experience at international, regional, or leading local banks preferred.
• Strong credit assessment and risk management capabilities.
• Sound understanding of Hong Kong and PRC regulatory environments.
• Deep knowledge of corporate banking products including lending, trade finance, treasury, cash management, and structured solutions.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
