You will be joining the ICAAP Centre of Excellence that leads the way in setting the EMEA ICAAP framework and standards in line with the strategic target operating model to enhance governance, processes, models and controls. This drive for enhanced standards and sophistication extends into the capital management process and ICAAP reports.
As a senior professional you will be responsible for driving the generation of the ICAAP report for UK entities under PRA regulation and for the coordination across the different functions primarily in Risk and Finance. You will also take ownership of the lifecycle of the ICAAP production from initiation to final submission to the regulator including reviews and approvals. In this role you are also expected to critically review and provide effective challenge to inputs into the report as well as writing sections.
In this position you will use and expand your experience and professional skills for the following responsibilities: Process Coordination - End-to-end process coordination of the ICAAP production with effective review and challenge to ensure a high standard of the ICAAP report in line with industry best practice.
- Chair ICAAP working group meetings and document action points.
- Play a key role in terms of editing the annual ICAAP submission in line with local regulations and EMEA ICAAP document templates and have key involvement in the 1LOD review and challenge of the proposed annual ICAAP submission.
- Ability to understand and challenge base and stress balance sheet, P&L and Pillar 1 and 2 risk numbers, capital planning and balance sheet modelling, risk appetite
- Provide support in connection with the preparation of standardised management decks for ALCO, Country Coordinating Committees and/or the Board (as relevant) in respect of the annual ICAAP submission.
- Appropriately assess risks and issues related to projects and ensure timely and effective escalation.
- Attend local ALCO meetings relating to ICAAP.
- Strong eye for controls and understanding of the need for governance surrounding the ICAAP and stress testing.
- Coordination for the production and submission of Governance Reports.
Innovative Transformation - Be part of the team creating standardised processes for non-MLEs.
- Drive improvements/implement feedback for future ICAAP submissions
- Bring new ideas to the table for the benefit of Citi and propose implementation solutions.
- Provide support to EMEA ICAAP teams, where applicable, in the implementation of the new Global ICAAP Standard.
Stakeholder Management - Collaborate across a variety of functions, primarily in Finance and Risk, to contribute to the production of the ICAAP report for UK entities
- Act as a SME to senior stakeholders and team members.
- Potentially lead training for EMEA legal entities in respect the ICAAP
- Participation in ICAAP Communications to EMEA staff
- Engage stakeholders including project sponsors and project managers, country CFOs/Controllers, CROs/Risk, MRM, regional managers, and Technology seniors
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the Bank's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
The ideal candidate for this position possesses the following qualifications and skills: - 8+ years of work experience in a risk, prudential or finance role within a financial institution
- Strong project management skills ideally gained in an international and global financial institution
- Strong understanding of regulatory capital rules (Basel), ICAAP regulations and current developments including PRA and EBA (e.g. SREP, Stress Testing, Pillar 2, ICAAP)
- Experience with ICAAP and stress testing
- Knowledge of non-Pillar 1 risks (e.g. IRRBB, concentration or pension) would be beneficial
- Strong communicator - both written and verbal
- Interpersonal skills, ability to manage stakeholder relationships across various levels of seniority using the English language; ability to make and/or facilitate decisions
- Strong MS Office and Word skills
- Enthusiastic team player and at the same time a self-starter
- Ability to manage deadlines under pressure and unexpected changes
- Good analytical skills and structural approach and thinking; ability to pay attention to detail
- Efficient and effective time management, and proven organisational skills
- Proven track record of having completed projects / tasks within tight deadlines
