At ABN AMRO Risk Management, we help the bank identify, assess and manage the non-financial risks that matter.

Within Strategic Risk Management and Non-Financial Risk, we operate at the intersection of strategy, governance, risk oversight and execution. Our team supports the business in strengthening the control environment, monitoring material risks and translating risk insights into clear management information and decision-making.

We work closely with stakeholders across the bank on topics such as risk governance, operational resilience, risk reporting, risk culture, policy implementation and continuous improvement. As an intern, you will contribute to real risk topics and gain insight into how Non-Financial Risk Management operates within a large financial institution.

The role: Non-Financial Risk Management Intern

As a Non-Financial Risk Management Intern, you will support the team in identifying, monitoring and reporting on non-financial risks across the organisation.

You will contribute to risk analyses, management reporting and presentations, support the preparation of risk committees, monitor actions and developments, and assist with process improvements and deep dives into specific risk topics.

You will work with colleagues across Risk Management and the business, giving you exposure to a broad range of stakeholders and strategic topics. The internship offers you the opportunity to build practical experience in Non-Financial Risk Management while contributing your analytical skills, structure and fresh perspective.

What you bring to the table

• You have a basic understanding of Operational Risk Management aspects.
• You are enthusiastic, proactive and creative at solving problems.
• You have strong consultancy skills and can translate complex issues into practical recommendations.
• You work well both independently and as part of a team.
• You are comfortable working with AI and can use AI tools effectively and responsibly.
• You are looking for an internship from September 2026 onwards.
• You are available for a minimum of four days a week for a period of 20 weeks.
• You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or master's program. Having a focus in AI, Finance, or Business Administration is a plus.
• You have strong communication skills and are fluent in English, with Dutch as a plus.
