Job description
Roles & Responsibilities
• Responsible for the overall internal audit function of the Bank, develop and implement the Internal Audit Methodology, including maintaining the Audit Charter and Audit Manual.
• Evaluate the reliability, adequacy and effectiveness of the internal controls and risk management processes of the Bank, to assesses if business and risk management units are operating according to the risk appetite framework; aware of whether the Bank's practices are keeping pace with the industry trends or are aligned with best practices and consider such knowledge in conducting their work.
• Provide overall opinion of internal controls relating to the risk governance framework to the Audit Committee annually;
• Review the internal controls of the Bank to ensure prompt and accurate recording of transactions and proper safeguarding of assets;
• Review whether the Bank complies with laws and regulations and adheres to established policies, and whether senior management is taking the appropriate steps to address control deficiencies;
• Conduct regular assessments of the internal audit function and audit systems and incorporating needed improvements,
• Report to the Audit Committee, at the minimum:
a) the annual or other periodic audit plan, detailing the proposed areas of audit focus;
b) any factors that may be adversely affecting the internal audit function's independence, objectivity or effectiveness; and
c) material findings from audits or reviews conducted.
• Monitoring and maintenance of the Bank's whistleblowing channel/ program, including Whistleblowing Policy.
Job Requirement
• Degree holder with at least 12 years of relevant experience in bank internal audit and risk assessment functions, with a minimum of 3 years leading an internal audit and risk assessment function
• Firm understanding of local regulations, experience with regulatory audits
• Firm knowledge of COSO framework, risk management and accounting, CPA, CISA preferred
• Ability to manage a diverse group of stakeholders and build trust and credibility over a period of time
• Good team player and highly responsive to internal and external requests
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with strong organisation skills
• Has hands-on experience working and responding to regulators
