Overview of Division/Department
Global Strategic Advisory Department (GSAD) focuses on fee-based and non-fee based advisory services as well as provide various investment-related information for clients, related to overseas expansion and business development. Our mission, as the in-house advisory function in Mizuho Bank, is to contribute to supporting and promoting overseas business activities for our clients from investment upstream stages and to creating new bankable opportunities for the Mizuho group, as a means of differentiation from other banks.
GSAD Singapore office provides advisory services related to overseas business development/re-organization and direct investment for Japanese (JP) and non-Japanese (NJP) companies in APAC region primarily based in Singapore, in corporation with internal APAC offices and GSAD/other department in Japan Head Quarter (HQ) as well as external partners. Thus, we aim at acquiring banking transactions and enhancing relationships with our clients among APAC
GSAD is now seeking an Assistant Vice President/Vice President level staff in Singapore office team. The selected candidate will focus on supporting and proactively developing potential projects for JP/NJP clients under the supervision of Section Head in Singapore and HQ.

- Supporting cross border M&A origination activities, including but not limited to:
- Conducting industry and market research, creation of long lists and short list of target companies for clients; and
- Preparation of teaser and various discussion materials for our clients;
- Developing and updating information materials;
- Supporting cross border M&A executions as the financial advisor to Japanese companies, including but not limited to:
- Supporting due diligence by coordinating with external teams such as legal counsels, accountants and other professionals and communicate with the counterparts as the key gatekeeper. Coordinating Q&A process and arranging various meeting including management presentations.
- Creating, managing and revising financial models and performing valuation analysis including comparable company analysis, comparable transaction analysis and DCF; and
- Supporting team for preparing M&A strategies by analysis of company's overview, financials, business, market position, and various other factors.
- Preparation of information memorandum and various drafted letters for our clients.
Job Requirements
Skills and Qualifications
- Possess 5 to 7 years of experience in an M&A role, corporate strategic planning or corporate finance role gained at M&A advisory teams, investment bank or corporates. Candidates who have experience in M&A projects involving Japanese corporates are highly preferred - candidates should provide list of project involvement and experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skill in English, and JLPT qualification with capability to comprehend written and spoken Japanese required due to communication with Japanese clients and liaising with various departments in Mizuho group companies in Japan.
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management.
- Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word.
