General DescriptionOur client, a leading international private bank, is seeking an experienced Execution (Asia) – Night Desk Officer to join its Asia Execution team at Director level.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the fast, accurate and controlled execution of client trade orders during European and US market hours. The role requires strong technical execution expertise, sound judgement and an active approach to risk management, while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulatory and internal standards.
The incumbent will provide a high level of execution service to private banking clients, including Direct Access Clients (DACs), and provide relevant market insights where required. The individual will also work closely with Front Office and other internal stakeholders to understand client requirements, maintain strong knowledge of financial products and services, and support the delivery of an effective execution offering.
This is a night desk position covering US market trading sessions working 5pm-1am shift timings only . The successful candidate must therefore be able to work night shifts and public holidays.
The role reports to the Head of Execution (Asia) – Night Desk .
Key Responsibilities People & Team Collaboration- Contribute to a strong team culture and collaborative working environment.
- Provide guidance, support and constructive feedback to other team members to improve overall team performance.
- Act as a senior point of reference for execution-related matters where appropriate.
- Ensure fast and precise execution of client trade orders while maintaining a very low error rate.
- Execute client orders across equities, structured products, and to a lesser extent fixed income products in European and US markets during night trading hours.
- Support the execution of structured products and other complex transactions where required.
- Maintain close working relationships with approved counterparties.
- Deliver a high standard of service to private banking clients and Direct Access Clients.
- Respond to client and Front Office enquiries relating to global financial markets, macroeconomic developments and execution considerations.
- Work closely with Front Office representatives to understand evolving client requirements and provide appropriate execution support.
- Provide proactive input on execution strategy, market structure, liquidity and other factors relevant to achieving effective execution outcomes.
- Support complex, high-risk or time-sensitive transactions and act as an escalation point when required.
- Support the achievement of the objectives and priorities established for the Night Desk.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and execution-related information.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of executed trades and provide reporting to management as required.
- Regularly review execution practices and workflows to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Support effective end-to-end trade lifecycle management, including resolution of execution, booking, settlement and other trade-related issues.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable legal, regulatory and internal requirements.
- Adhere to relevant internal policies, procedures and user manuals.
- Ensure all necessary suitability checks, regulatory checks and disclosures are completed prior to trade execution where applicable.
- Ensure required approvals are in place before trading with new counterparties.
- Regularly assess execution processes and practices to identify and mitigate operational, regulatory and execution risks.
- Exercise appropriate judgement in managing complex transactions and market events.
- Demonstrate high standards of honesty, integrity, due care and diligence.
- Maintain appropriate standards relating to fair dealing, management of conflicts of interest, competence, continuous development and risk management.
- Able to work independently and exercise sound judgement, particularly during periods when senior stakeholders may not be immediately available.

- Relevant university degree and/or professional qualifications.
- Approximately 5–10+ years of relevant execution, trading or dealing experience , with sufficient experience and expertise to operate at Director level.
- Strong hands-on experience in trade execution.
- Strong knowledge of equities, structured products and fixed income products .
- Good understanding of financial products across multiple asset classes.
- Strong knowledge of US and European markets, market structure, trading venues and execution practices .
- Strong understanding of execution strategies, including electronic and algorithmic trading.
- Good understanding of liquidity, market impact and execution-risk considerations.
- Strong understanding of electronic pricing tools, dealing systems and trading platforms.
- Experience managing complex trades and the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
- Proficiency in relevant trading systems and tools, Microsoft Excel and other applicable software.
- Strong commercial judgement, business acumen and understanding of global financial markets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to provide execution-related advice and market insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Comfortable acting as a subject matter expert and senior escalation point during high-risk or time-sensitive market situations.
- MAS licensed representative, where applicable.
- CACS 1 and CACS 2.
- RES 1B, RES 2B and CM-SIP, where applicable.
- Strong familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and expectations.
- Good understanding of applicable cross-border rules and regulations.
This role forms part of the Asia Night Desk and primarily covers European and US market trading sessions . Candidates must be prepared to work regular night shifts and public holidays.
