Solution Architect (Banking Domain)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The primary objective of the solution architect is to work with the client's architecture team to provide architecture, design and technical guidelines to enable the bank's digital transformation. Candidates need to have a strong grasp of banking & banking processes.

KEY FEATURES OF THE POSITION
General
• Define architecture roadmap and landscape in line with the Digital Strategy of the bank
• Consider local adaptions of global standards to meet regulatory and cultural differences
• Participate in IT Projects by providing architecture and solution blueprints
• Manage and drive proof of concepts on new technologies and tools that may be required for supporting the bank's business
• Manage software and system's lifecycle to minimize technology risks coming out of unsupported or obsolete software/systems
• Conduct design and high level code reviews

Client Management (internal & external)
• Participate and contribute to enterprise architecture strategy of the bank by working together with the global architecture team based in Europe
• Provide technical guidance to project teams along the entire software development lifecycle

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
Personal and Social
• Able to handle verbal and written communication where the main language used for internal and external communication is English
• Able to explain designs and solutions to developers and business users alike
• Strong leadership skills in matrix organizational setup, ability to lead, mentor and coach team members and developers.
• Passionate and efficient self-learner in order to adopt new technologies and methodologies to create business value

Professional and Technical
• Bachelor/Master degree in Engineering or Computer science
• 7+ years of experience in design and implementation of enterprise systems in banking domain, preferably wealth management
• Strong collaboration skills across hierarchy levels and organizational boundaries
• Very good knowledge and experience in modern web technologies
• Proficiency in enterprise technologies such as Java EE, spring boot, databases like Oracle and MySQL, integration technologies like IBM MQ, IBM Integration Bus etc.
• Experience in implementing DevOps principles in the organisation
• Knowledge of architecture frameworks like TOGAF or Zachmann
