Database Administrator

Location: Zurich
Languages: German and English
Contract duration: 12 months
Start date: around December 2026

Required Background

• 8+ years of experience in Database Administration, Database Engineering or Database Platform Support
• Strong experience supporting business-critical production environments with high availability requirements
• Proven background in database operations, incident management, problem resolution and platform lifecycle management.
• Experience working within regulated enterprise environments, ideally banking, financial services, insurance or other highly controlled industries.
• Strong understanding of database security, resilience, backup and recovery frameworks.
• Exposure to infrastructure operations, change management and production support processes.

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience administering Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and/or IBM DB2 database environments.
• Experience with database performance tuning, high availability solutions, disaster recovery, backup and recovery processes, and database monitoring tools.
• Solid knowledge of SQL, shell scripting, database security controls and production support within enterprise-scale environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Oracle RAC and other clustering technologies.
• Exposure to database migration, integration and upgrade initiatives.
• Linux/UNIX platform knowledge.
• Automation and database tooling expertise.
• Experience within financial services or other regulated industries.
• Knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.
