A bit about the job



As a Senior Underwriter within Aviva's Education and Public Sector team, you'll play a key role in delivering profitable growth across a growing and strategically important portfolio. You'll underwrite new and existing business, negotiate complex cases, and build strong broker partnerships while helping shape trading performance and growth strategies. You'll also have access to Aviva's Commercial Lines Academy, offering advanced technical learning, trading development, leadership training, and career progression opportunities.



This is a great job for someone with previous experience of underwriting for the public sector and educational sector or an experienced underwriter who is keen to develop their skills within this area!




Skills and experience we're looking for:

• Significant experience within commercial underwriting or broking, ideally mid-market or larger cases.


• Strong technical underwriting capability with experience assessing and pricing complex risks.


• Proven ability to build and manage broker relationships and lead trading discussions.


• Commercially minded with the ability to make balanced, data-driven decisions.


• Knowledge of FCA requirements and regulatory responsibilities.

• Salary : £40,000 - £65,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
