Software Engineer (Backend Java)

Detillens is working with a Top Tier Investment Bank as they develop and grow their Glasgow base and we are hiring for an experienced Java Developer.

Working onsite at one of the world’s top tier financial services businesses provides a significant platform for building a professional technology career in financial services. We need an experienced software engineer, to come into a team working on exciting and significant technology infrastructure upgrades in a fast-paced environment. Teams sit across both Equities trading, Risk Management, Liquidity Reporting and Fund Accounting.

Role Profile:

• The role offers a great opportunity for someone with a strong professional grounding in using Java who is looking for an environment and opportunity that will challenge and develop their career in a high achieving team and business.
• You will be a technically proficient and enthusiastic user of Java.
• You will work in an agile team

Essential Skills:

• Core experience as a Java Back-End Developer is essential. 
• Experience developing real-time applications highly beneficial.
• SQL and database skills preferable.

Desired Skills:

• Experience of working in a fast paced financial services environment as an experienced software engineer would be advantageous. But experience within a complex corporate environment would otherwise be useful.
• Angular experience and knowledge desirable.
• Distributed platforms and technology experience would highly beneficial.
• Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills
• Highly innovative, motivated and effective team player
• Willingness to learn new technologies

The Successful Candidate will:

• Be organised and delivery-focused, with attention to detail
• Be articulate in verbal and written communication with all types of project stakeholders: colleagues, users, management, etc.
