To be considered for this role candidates must:

  • Be a recent graduate or be an AAT studier;
  • Have advanced standard of English and Maths;
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office and exposure to an accountancy system;
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be able to start within 1 week of accepted offer

Pay: £15 - £16ph, equivalent of roughly £30,000.

The Role:

As the Accounts Assistant, you shall be working within a small team focusing on transnational aspects of the accounts, while training on more complex areas, with the opportunity to assist with month end tasks and help in preparing reports. You'll also have exposure to Product Management work.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance of the purchase order and invoice inbox
  • Coding invoices into the system accurately, and providing breakdowns on totals when required.
  • Assisting with quarterly VAT returns
  • Credit Control, updating notes on each client, including the issuing of client monthly statements
  • Managing online banking, including analysis of banking statements, reconciliation and allocating payments/refunds to the correct ledgers.
  • Supporting with the budgeting and forecasting cycle of the business
  • Ad-hoc financial reporting for the Senior Management Team

Candidate profile

  • Excellent planning, prioritising, organisation and time management skills;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and thorough administrative skills;
  • Able to work on own initiative as well within a small team;
  • Self-motivation, commitment and enthusiasm and the ability to work calmly under pressure;
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
