About the Role:
To provide complete mapping and oversight of client data to ensure well-informed decision making related to Exposure Risk Management (ERM), Capital Modelling, Underwriting, Pricing and Reserving. High-quality data is essential to produce robust risk modelling and management to achieve the team's strategies and goals.
About the Department & Team:
The Financial Risks Reinsurance Underwriting team writes a $900m global reinsurance portfolio that includes many different specialty classes. The business is written out of multiple offices, and we aspire to work as one global team. This role is non-underwriting but is embedded within the underwriting team due to the nature of the responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Reports to the Senior Exposure Management Reporting Analyst.
• Converting client bordereau into standard format to upload into data management systems.
• Ensure mapping rules applied appropriately and consistently across different products, geographies, and reinsurance structures.
• Complete checks to ensure completeness and accuracy of all uploaded client data.
• Reconcile exposure outputs and proactively investigate unexpected movements.
• Work with the Underwriting team to improve mapping of obligor names to standardised IDs.
• Work with MI team to create relevant dashboards to clearly communicate exposure data.
• Engage with various stakeholders across the business with ad-hoc data projects.
• Supporting the on-going management of watchlists, working with Underwriting and Claims to keep these up to date.
Skills and Experience:
• Some experience or a demonstrable interest in developing a career in insurance.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple initiatives.
• Curious, self-motivated, proactive and adaptable.
• Interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude; comfortable working independently and in teams.
• Microsoft Office skills for Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Interest in continuous learning and professional development.
