Associate, Real Estate Debt - Loan Underwriting

Our client operates in the larger loan side of the market, focused on complex transactions, across Development Finance. Over the last 18 months they have successfully closed £650m of new business across the UK. 

Given the continued growth plans of the team, a need has arisen to bring in an Associate level candidate, to support the Lending Directors on deal execution duties.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Assist the Directors with analysis, structuring and execution of real estate development transactions.
• Performing due diligence into potential transactions.
• Transaction modelling.
• Helping to prepare credit applications.
• Ongoing and ad-hoc market research, commentary, and data analysis.
• Assist with the management of a transaction from inception through to repayment.
• Assist with the ongoing monitoring of live development transactions across the portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ years’ experience in real estate debt lending.
• Experience of real estate development finance is essential.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external relationships.
• Ability to self-direct, analyse, evaluate, and form independent judgements.
• Strong financial analysis and extensive modelling experience.
• Experience in transaction underwriting and writing investment / credit proposals.
• Solid analytical and critical thinking mindset and attention to detail.
