Job Description

Checkout.com is actively looking for a driven and agile Reconciliation Associate to join our growing Finance team.
Working as part of our Treasury function, you'll support the reconciliation of Payment Gateway (Schemes / APM) transactions. Evolving in a high-pace and multifaceted environment, meticulous attention to detail will be key.
A dedicated, laser-focused and highly organised individual, not shying away from high volume of work. The ideal candidate must be a phenomenal teammate when it comes to getting the job done and assisting wherever you can.
What you'll be doing
  • Sign-off daily reconciliations performed by team members
  • Day-to-day management of junior team members
  • Support Reconciliation leadership with ad-hoc reporting and critical metric dashboards.
  • Setting and maintaining the high-standards encouraged of the team
  • Improve processes, solution driven outcomes that improve our Financial Control process.
  • Participate in project work or product development initiatives alongside daily responsibilities
  • Plan and support the implementation of reconciliation systems (internal, external)
  • Be an SME in reconciliations, systems and tools of online payment transactions, apply expert knowledge of clearing and settlement processes to balance priorities in project delivery
  • Be responsible for the onboarding of junior staff
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Deputise for Reconciliation Manager as and when required
  • Reconcile Checkout.com 's payment gateway processing across multiple bank accounts and providers
  • Identify discrepancies, the respective root causes, and take action to eliminate and prevent any such in perspective.
  • Use strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of our systems to resolve queries with our partners in mind.
Qualifications
  • University degree in a numerical subject (and strong academic record) or 2.5+ years' work experience in reconciliations in a high-volume transaction environment
  • Leadership experience is desirable
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Excel (Formulas, PQ or VBA)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify patterns in numbers and data with skill and confidence
  • Proven track record to find end-to-end solutions to issues and work cross-functionally and with remote teams - including Finance, Product, Engineering, Data
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in an evolving environment and often shifting priorities
  • Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Knowledge of Card Schemes, Alternative Payment Methods or Payin / Payout solutions and settlement policies is desirable
  • Ability to drive projects of high complexity to automate manual tasks with the team or department
  • Fast learner, able to work independently and with minimal direction
  • Experience of supporting audits and management reporting
