Finance Correspondent

The main focus of the role will be on digging out the details of the most eye-catching deals in the market, but it will also involve unearthing lenders’ strategies, and breaking news about senior industry figures moving jobs. Breaking news will be interspersed with writing fast-paced analysis to ensure that the readership is given a 360-degree perspective and to help solidify you as the dominant journalist on your patch. The successful candidate will ideally be London-based or at least able to travel regularly into London to meet contacts.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Breaking exclusive stories on the real estate debt market in the UK and Europe
• Establishing a contact base and regularly meeting senior industry figures 
• Writing occasional analysis pieces and interviews 
• Overseeing the publication of React’s morning bulletin once a week 
• Attending industry conferences

Requirements

• A minimum of two years business journalism experience
• Exceptional command of written English
• A proven track record in breaking news 
• History of working a patch and contact base
• Debt/finance knowledge would be preferred 
• Real estate knowledge/experience would be advantageous but is not a necessity 
• Attending industry conferences 
• A collaborative mindset, keen to share in and celebrate the team’s successes
• A disciplined, controlled approach to tasks, with great work and admin habits
• A willingness to learn, adapt and take on instruction, with a positive attitude to personal development
