Financial Accountant

Month-end and financial control procedures

• Production of monthly Bank consolidation file
• Prepare monthly consolidation journals

Regulatory reporting

• Ensure timely submissions of the FINREP packs from the business units
• Preparation of the consolidated quarterly FINREP report including raising review comments and challenge to the business units

Other reporting and analysis

• Preparation of the Office of National Statistics returns
• Coordinate consolidation of business submissions of data as required (including summary of intangible assets, IFRS 9 impairment, data for impact assessment of new accounting standards etc.)

Interim and year-end reporting

• Ensure timely submissions of interim & year end packs from the business units
• Produce high quality interim and year-end financial reports including the Bank’s financial statements

Accounting policy

• Support the production of accounting papers where necessary
• Assist with update of accounting manual and policy documentation

Ad-hoc

• Support the creation a robust control environment across the Bank
• Support process improvement initiatives

Risk & Compliance

• Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:

• You have strong organisational skills including a good track record of delivering effective reporting under pressure and to tight business-critical deadlines.
• You have strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• You can work well within teams and a proven ability to engage with a variety of people across multiple departments
• You have strong technical background
• You are IT literate with advanced knowledge of Excel
• You are a Qualified Accountant, ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
• You are Degree educated or equivalent

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:

• Have experience of FINREP
• Have experience of SAP
• Have experience of producing consolidated financial statements
