Morgan McKinley is proud to be exclusively supporting a well-known, large US listed business with beautiful offices in Hammersmith. My client is owned by a large Group whose businesses are diverse and managed principally from London, Boston, Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Background and role
The IT function is managed centrally from the UK and undertakes both operational IT support and system development work, some of which is capital in nature. The IT infrastructure is complex with many businesses operating unique customised systems. The work undertaken by the IT team is varied in its scope and can be specific to one or some of the businesses.

Key responsibilities:

• Build a deep understanding of the costs currently incurred across the business and the existing accounting processes
• Develop a fair and adaptable cost sharing arrangement in collaboration with the Senior IT Leadership team and Finance Directors
• Work alongside the Group Tax Manager to ensure cost sharing arrangements are appropriate
• Develop a process to effectively manage the monthly accounting for the cost sharing arrangement. Provide support to local finance teams in the processing of IT costs and practical solutions to problems they face in operating the cost sharing arrangements in place
• Ensure correct VAT treatment on invoices and cost recharges
• Create the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for IT costs
• Design and implement consolidated management reports including relevant KPI's. Perform monthly analysis and commentary on IT spend
• Work with Senior IT Management team and Finance Directors to deepen their understanding and ownership of IT costs
• Provide oversight of the software capitalisation processes in place and ongoing review of compliance with US GAAP requirements in this area
• Develop process for approval of capital IT spend across
• Perform regular analyses of IT capital expenditure across
• Support the IT Management team on tenders and procurement activity. Assess value for money and provide financial modelling for decision support
• Identify risks in the current and new processes and work in collaboration with the SOX Director to mitigate these risks

The ideal candidate:

We are looking for the following:

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• A technically strong finance professional with a track record of work in an international group
• Commercially minded with a high level of business acumen and ability to balance the needs of all stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills, with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to analyse and create solutions to problems as they arise
• Influencing and project management skills to drive through change

Salary & benefits:

The role of Group Commercial IT Finance Manager is paying £70,000 plus bonus and attractive benefits
