Indirect Tax Advisory 12 mth FTC

Global Asset Manager is looking to hire a new Indirect Tax Advisory professional for a 12-month Fixed term contract.    The team is undertaking a range of exciting new funds as well as expanding and enhancing their existing funds across Real Assets, Property, and Real Estate so as a minimum, you will need to have Real assets experience and some form of Property experience from a tax perspective.

The team truly is fantastic with real collegiate interaction and a management team who inspire and help you fulfill your professional goals.  There is potential for this to go permanent.

Responsibilities to include:

• advisory responsibility to the various fund business teams on all things indirect.  From VAT implications through to indirect tax advice on transactions, particularly when it comes to Real estate and their direct investments.
• all things Indirect Tax compliance – from a VAT risk perspective whether this be support on VAT registrations, Option to Tax, grouping or reviews of the quarterly VAT returns
• PESMs from preparation through to submission

This is an advisory-focused role as the team outsources most of the compliance and reporting, that being said this is very much a hands-on role and team. 

Preference is for you to be able to start no later than January 2023 (early Jan).

Ideally suited to a qualified Tax accountant or qualified by experience.  The key aspect that is non-negotiable is the real asset Fund experience and some form of property experience whether this is fund related or simply experience of land and property tax law or from working in a property company itself.

Additionally, European indirect tax experience and knowledge is highly desirable.  At a minimum, you will need to show a strong understanding of UK indirect tax legislation, indirect tax case law, and HRMC’s VAT policy.
