Quantitative Analyst, Pricing Risk Model Validation

Macquarie Group London, United Kingdom
Build confidence in the models that power global financial markets. Joining the Model Risk Management team within the Risk Management Group, you will play a key role in independently assessing quantitative models used across the Commodities and Global Markets business, helping to ensure robust risk management while developing expertise across a diverse range of products, markets and modelling techniques in a collaborative global environment.

We are a global financial services group operating in 30 markets with 57 years of unbroken profitability. At Macquarie, you're empowered to shape a career that is fulfilling and creates value. You will bring your insights and expertise to the task at hand and feel supported as you make your own kind of impact for a better future.

What role will you play?

As a Quantitative Analyst within the Model Risk Management team, you will contribute to the independent validation of pricing and risk models used across global trading activities, helping to strengthen the integrity and effectiveness of key quantitative frameworks. Working closely with quantitative developers, traders and risk professionals, you will apply analytical and programming techniques to review model methodologies, challenge assumptions, assess model performance under different market conditions and communicate insights that support informed decision-making. Reporting to a senior member of the Model Risk Management team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of financial products and quantitative approaches while building strong stakeholder relationships across global locations

What you offer

  • A degree in a highly quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, computer science, financial mathematics, or a related field.
  • A strong foundation in probability, statistics, stochastic calculus, and numerical methods.
  • Knowledge of quantitative techniques used in derivative pricing, such as Monte Carlo simulation, stochastic differential equations, and finite-difference/grid methods for solving pricing problems.
  • An understanding of, or strong interest in, financial markets, derivatives, and quantitative modelling. Prior professional experience in these areas is helpful but not required.
  • Experience using programming or analytical tools to solve quantitative problems.
  • Experience with Python, C++, R or similar languages is beneficial.
  • Exposure to additional analytical techniques such as regression, optimisation, or time-series analysis, whether through university coursework, research, internships, or professional experience.
  • The ability to break down complex quantitative problems, challenge assumptions and communicate conclusions clearly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an interest in collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders across different asset classes and global locations.
  • A willingness to learn new financial products, modelling techniques and programming approaches.
We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us, if you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.
