Connect to your opportunity
As a Resource Manager, you will lead the RM team's planning, scheduling and deployment of onshore and offshore practitioners, balancing delivery requirements, utilisation and development opportunities.
You will build trusted relationships at all levels through purposeful face-to-face engagement, understand business leaders' priorities and independently advise on resourcing decisions.
Working with Business Leadership and Finance, you will own the financial forecast, identify risks against plan and drive practical actions to improve business performance.
You will coach and develop colleagues, exercise judgement on when to provide hands-on support or escalate critical matters, and champion AI and supporting technologies to improve processes, quality and decision-making.
- Build relationships and shape RM delivery: Maintain a strong office presence and build trusted relationships through purposeful face-to-face engagement with Business Leadership, engagement leaders, RM colleagues and connected functions. Independently represent RM in stakeholder discussions, influence decisions and adapt processes to support business priorities.
- Champion technology and AI-enabled improvement: Actively develop your understanding of emerging AI and supporting technologies, identifying, testing and implementing practical improvements to planning, reporting and processes. Champion adoption across the team, applying sound judgement to improve efficiency, quality and decision-making.
- Lead and develop the RM team: Lead the team in balancing engagement requirements, capacity, practitioner skills and development needs. Set priorities, delegate and coach effectively, and act as the first point of escalation for the team, resolving operational issues independently and escalating critical matters to the Senior Manager. Use sound judgement to know when to step into operational work to coach colleagues, build their confidence and lead by example, while also providing hands-on support during peak periods or team absences to maintain delivery.
- Manage capacity, demand and commercial outcomes: Oversee forecasting and reporting across utilisation, capacity, demand and resource budgets. Identify shortfalls, excess capacity, seasonal pressures and financial risks, agreeing practical actions with Business Leadership and the wider RM network and following them through.
- Oversee reliable schedules and forecasts: Guide junior colleagues in maintaining accurate bookings, wider Dayshape data and planning assumptions. Translate business strategy into clear team priorities, explaining how reliable schedules and forecasts support business decisions, and ensure delivery follows agreed policies and controls.
Connect to your skills and professional experience
- Direct Resource Management experience: Proven RM experience within a large, complex organisation, with a strong grounding in deployment, capacity planning, demand forecasting and managing competing resource requirements.
- Relationship-building and influence: Confidence building trusted relationships through face-to-face engagement, including with senior leaders. Able to understand business priorities, communicate clearly and constructively challenge decisions. Own senior stakeholder discussions independently, using sound judgement to involve the Senior Manager where risk or wider business implications require additional perspective, support or visibility.
- Analytical and commercial judgement: Strong ability to interpret resource data, utilisation and budgets, explain business implications and recommend practical solutions. Comfortable exercising judgement where information is incomplete or priorities conflict.
- Hands-on leadership and ownership: Experience coaching, delegating and delivering through others, with the judgement to balance team autonomy with practical support. Able to develop colleagues by working alongside them and maintain delivery under pressure, including during peak periods and team absences.
- Technology curiosity and improvement mindset: Comfortable using resource planning systems and management information, with a strong interest in AI and emerging technologies. Keen to learn, test new approaches and help others adopt practical improvements, while critically assessing outputs and maintaining quality.
