Financial Reporting - State Street Global Advisors, VP

The SSGA Audit Oversight Team is responsible for the oversight of accounting policy for SSGA's bank maintained commingled products and daily valuation for registered, unregistered and exchange traded funds. The Accounting Policy Manager will be a key member of this team within SSGA Global Funds Management.

They will review, interpret and implement existing and new GAAP pronouncements as well as draft risk disclosure notes for funds audit financial statements. They will develop and maintain close relationships with all operational groups, corporate audit, legal, compliance and external audit firms. Strong time management and organizational skills needed, with the aptitude to work on multiple deliverables concurrently.
Primary responsibilities include:

• Draft new and update existing financial statement disclosures for newly issued accounting pronouncements and emerging industry practices
• Coordinate functional implementation of new accounting standards
• Monitor developments in proposed accounting standards
• Research and draft technical positions on complex accounting issues in accordance with current pronouncements and authoritative literature and communicate this to management and external auditors
• Develop controls/procedures for significant accounting and/or tax matters
• Rationalize existing risks, controls and measures within control environment and identify potential improvements
• Assist operational units in understanding accounting ramifications of business decisions
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual reporting process; research and respond to both internal and external audit inquiries
• Assist in ad-hoc projects, as requested

Salary Range:
$100,000 - $160,000 Annual
