NY-based sell-side investment bank is looking for a Junior Java Developer with a BS in Computer Science to join a technology team that is developing US equity execution products. The ideal candidate must have been out of school and in programming jobs for at least a year, utilizing Java in a commercial endeavor. The team operates much like a start-up and the firm has committed significant resources to develop proprietary trading algorithms.

Responsibilities:

Work with a team of quantitative researchers and traders to develop new equity execution algorithms for both US and international equity markets
Use Java 8 and 11-based equity trading platform to deploy algorithms
Work on delivering web-based trading analytics
Work with a team that is designing and developing new proprietary equity execution algorithms

Requirements:

BS Computer Science Degree strongly preferred
Must have strong Java 8, Java 11, JavaScript, Python, and SQL programming skills
1++ years of code development and software development lifecycle experience (SDLC)
Basic knowledge of equity algorithmic trading and US equity markets is strongly preferred
Superior communication skills to work with sales, traders, and clients
