Support the Head of Finance/CFO by working closely with the other Assistant Fund Controller on daily team supervision and overseeing all aspects of the Capstone funds, including a $5.5B multi-strategy flagship fund and 20+ Solutions accounts ranging from SMAs and funds of one to funds with complex liquidity terms and customized fee calculations
Together with the other Assistant Fund Controller, responsible for managing a four-person fund accounting team
Managing communication and expectations with the administrator Collaborate with Middle Office on the review of daily PnL as well as reviewing internal day-to-day NAV reporting
Participate in IT development projects on the Finance development list and work closely with the technology team
Identify and lead new initiatives to make the group more efficient through process/procedures redesign; including helping to finalize the onboarding of a new cloud-based application to help with budgeting fund expenses and calculation of accruals
Exposure to the Valuation process as it relates to the month-end close
Review of month end close packages from the administrator along with overseeing the completion of internal shadow allocations
Support IR team on ad hoc and monthly investor requests, DDQ responses.
Work closely with the Deputy General Counsel on the review of fund and investor documents, including assisting in the negotiation of investor side letters and MFNs
Participate in the coordination the accounting aspects of new fund launches with multiple groups across the firm (Operations, Legal, Middle Office), including fund structuring and management and incentive calculation scenarios as well as both internal meetings and external calls throughout the launch
Coordinate with the SVP of FP&A on management fee and incentive forecasts
Review of audited financials
Work with the SVP of Tax on things such as preparing fund tax estimates, reviewing fund K-1s (K-2s and K-3s also), and Federal and State filings review

DESIRABLE CANDIDATES:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Experience with and ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables at one time: plan, document and coordinate projects as well as ensuring the team makes continuous progress, hits planned deadlines and ultimately delivers on the final results
Experience with mentoring and/or supervising junior staff
Involvement in process improvement/overall quality control of procedures
IT development project experience as it relates to Fund Accounting
Mix of private/public or private/admin experience is ideal. CPA is a plus.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, SQL skills and VBA experience is a plus
Experience working on Financial Statements / Audit Process
Experience working on tax returns (K-1’s, Federal + State filings) is a plus
