Robert Half Financial Services are currently recruiting for a Controller role, at a growing Broker Dealer/Securities firm based in downtown Manhattan New York. Our client requires a Series 27 (FINOP) FINRA License and 10+ years’ experience at a Broker Dealer/Securities firm with knowledge of corporate accounting, GAAP, cash flow, budgeting and audit. The role is hybrid remote and requires 3 days per week in the midtown office.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and preparing monthly financials statements (B/S, I/S, Cash flow, Partners’ Equity)
- Manage / directly involved with annual financial audit
- Analyze financial data
- Develop and enforce internal controls
- Manage and monitor all financial transactions
- Streamlining accounting functions and operations
- Manage Jr. Financial Analyst
- Review / prepare and post month end journal entries
- Review / perform month end general ledger account reconciliations
- Review / prepare month end work papers
- Review / perform month end bank reconciliations
- Manage accounts payable invoicing and expense processing
- Manage accounts receivable tracking
- Oversee/prepare daily income accrual schedules
- Perform various accounting, administrative and other related ad hoc requests
Requirements:
- Series 27 (FINOP) FINRA License
- 10+ years’ experience at a Broker Dealer/Securities firm
- Knowledge of corporate accounting, GAAP, cash flow, budgeting and audit
- CPA advantageous but not required
- Bachelor degree
The Controller role requires 3 days per week in the downtown Manhattan office, so please only apply if you are able to travel to this location, have relevant experience for the role and are eligible to work in the United States.
