Chief Executive
GatenbySanderson London, United KingdomChief Executive
At a time of profound change for the housing sector, this is an opportunity to lead an organisation with a distinct public purpose and growing national influence. For more than 35 years, The Property Ombudsman (TPO) has provided independent redress to consumers and property professionals, while using its insight and evidence to shape standards, influence policy and improve outcomes across the sector. As the impact of the Renters' Rights Act 2025 and wider reforms continue to be felt, demand for advice, guidance and dispute resolution is expected to grow, placing TPO at the heart of an evolving consumer landscape.
A lean, high-impact organisation, TPO combines significant reach with an increasingly important voice. Building on recent transformation, the next Chief Executive will lead the organisation's next phase of development, ensuring it remains financially sustainable, operationally excellent and equipped to meet rising demand. You will also play a key role in strengthening TPO's influence, working in partnership with the Property Ombudsman to proactively build relationships across government, regulators, professional bodies, industry and consumer stakeholders, championing the organisation's distinct role within a changing redress landscape.
We are looking for an inspiring and values-led leader with the credibility, judgement and commercial acumen to succeed in a complex stakeholder environment. Whether you are an established Chief Executive or an exceptional senior leader ready to step into your first CEO role, you will bring a track record of leading multi-faceted business change, growth and organisational performance. Comfortable balancing external influence with internal leadership, you will combine strategic vision with operational discipline, ensuring the organisation continues to innovate and improve in support of desired consumer outcomes.
Motivated by public purpose, you will understand the importance of independence, fairness and trust, and bring the personal warmth, integrity and collaborative approach needed to work effectively with a respected Ombudsman, an experienced Board and a highly committed team. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of an organisation whose impact extends far beyond its size, helping to build confidence, accountability and better outcomes for consumers and the property sector alike.
