Job Description



As a DevOps Engineer for the Economic Crime Cloud DevOps team, you will work with technologies like Terraform, AWS, and GHA to automate deployments, optimise cloud resources, and support our development teams in delivering high-quality solutions. You'll be responsible for keeping our cloud environments secure, scalable, and reliable, enabling our business to innovate quickly and safely. This is an opportunity to provide technical leadership and work collaboratively with engineers and stakeholders, driving automation and best practices across our platforms.

For this role, you'll be based at your nearest regional office or hub. We value time spent together to connect with colleagues for collaboration so there will be a regular requirement to attend our
Swindon site approximately
once per month . If you are based at an office location, you'll be expected to meet our hybrid working requirement of at least two days a week, or 40% of your working time if part-time, in the office.

Responsibilities




What you'll be doing



In this role, you'll use automation tools to manage and improve our cloud infrastructure, making sure services run smoothly and efficiently. You will help developers deploy their code quickly and safely, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and keep everything running at its best.



You will also provide technical leadership and expert guidance to other DevOps engineers, ensuring the right technical direction and outcomes. Alongside this, you will use your technical expertise to organise and prioritise work, provide technical leadership, and support the growth of the team through coaching and development.




About you



You will need experience in the below:

• Managing cloud infrastructure, especially using AWS


• Deployment, configuration and troubleshooting of Cassandra clusters


• Infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform


• Deployment automation platforms like GitHub Actions


• Implement and maintain container platforms (for example, Docker and Kubernetes)


• Scripting and automation (for example, using Shell or Python)


• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud and deployment issues
