Job Description

**This is an in-office position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Evaluates new and existing business
2. Process policies and determines pricing.
3. Handles in-force policy underwriting.
4. Performs other related underwriting duties as required or assigned.
5. Travel in territory as needed.

Reviews information submitted by producers and brokers.

Evaluates acceptability of risk.

Prepares quotations.

Processes cancellations and non-renewals.

Assures proper set-up of information for policy issuance.

Evaluates coverage being provided.

Reviews descriptions and assures accuracy.

Determines appropriate pricing.

Approves endorsement requests from producers.

Approves policy audits.

Reviews underwriting information throughout policy year and approves renewals actions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Insurance forms, contracts knowledge

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

College degree 2 yr. /4 yr.

Insurance industry courses, INS, CPCU, AU

5 years active role in underwriting
