One of Goldman's top female MDs in London quit for a digital investment firm

Latifa Tefridj-Gaillard, Goldman Sachs' former head of solutions sales in London, has left the firm for Digital Colony, a global investment firm that invests in digital infrastructure.

Tefridj-Gaillard joined Digital Colony this week as managing director and head of European capital formation. She spent nearly 16 and a half years at Goldman, where she was made managing director (MD) in 2015 and occupied a range of roles including cross asset strategies and corporate equity solutions.

Tefridj-Gaillard is the latest in a spate of senior hires at Digital Colony, which increased headcount by 70% last year to over 70 people according to LinkedIn. The firm has $23bn in assets under management and invests across data centers, macro cell towers, fiber networks and small cell networks in the digital infrastructure space. 

The pandemic has added impetus to the 'digital revolution' and appears to be motivating banking lifers like Tefridj-Gaillard to explore other options. Born in Niger to Algerian parents and educated in Paris, she joined Goldman in London in 2004 after graduating with a Masters degree from French Business school Essec. 

A mother of three, Tefridj-Gaillard is a role model for women in finance. “It’s possible for both partners to have high-intensity jobs,” she said in 2016. “- You just have to be very organised.”
