BNP Paribas adds to its credit team in Frankfurt, courtesy of Citi
BNP Paribas’ mighty macro team hasn’t been doing so great recently (Q4 results pending), and the bank has been going through a bit of a shake-up that has led to a new hiring direction: credit.

Cihan Arslan joined BNP Paribas’ solutions sales team in Frankfurt this week. He arrived from Citi, where he spent a decade across the bank's fixed income sales & trading team in both Frankfurt and London, specializing in structured credit sales.
BNP Paribas’ fixed income, currencies, and commodities (FICC) team has been in flux. Global co-head of macro and credit trading, Francisco Oliveira, departed and resurfaced at SocGen late last year.
Oliveira's former co-head, Arne Groes, is now sole head – and is known for his credit background. There were various other departures from BNP's macro team last year, including Adrien Averre, Joe Squires, and Courtenay Watson. However, Arslan isn't the only recruit in credit. In October, BNP also picked up Sylvain Lebre.
