Hedge fund Brevan Howard lost two more senior technologists, hired one new one
Brevan Howard, the multistrategy hedge fund with a macro bias, has parted company with many of its senior technologists but it's also hiring new ones.

By our reckoning, at least eight senior technologists had vanished from the hedge fund, with many of them disappearing subsequent to the arrival of Mike Sanders from JPMorgan as head of technology in 2024. That number has now increased to 10.
The latest two exits are Brevan's CISO (chief information security officer), Charles Clarke, and Brevan's global head of infrastructure, Kesh Iyer.
Clarke is thought to have only joined Brevan last November and to have previously been head of security infrastructure at the London Stock Exchange Group. He didn't respond to a request to comment and the reason for his swift exit is unclear. Clarke appears to have been a replacement for Katherine Garrod, Brevan's former CISO who joined Marshall Wace after less than two years there around the time that Clarke arrived. Brevan declined to comment on Clarke's exit, but will presumably be hiring a new CISO again.
Kesh Iyer joined Brevan from Point72 as its New York based head of platform engineering in June 2024. He then became the global head of infrastructure in April 2025. Now he's gone again. Iyer didn't respond to a request to comment and Brevan isn't commenting, but it's thought that Iyer may have left by mutual agreement as Sanders - who is based in London, consolidates a senior team locally.
London technologists aspiring to become Brevan Howard's head of global infrastructure are unfortunately too late. The fund has already found Iyer's replacement. Ziad Afra, the head of core infrastructure and technology operations at Schonfeld, is thought to be joining soon.
Brevan has hired some other senior people too, of late. The include: Valdo Durrelman, a well respected senior strat from Eisler and Ben Souter, the head of front office technology at BlueCrest.
